District Court - Kaushambi

The District Court Kaushambi was established at district headquarter Manjhanpur on October 13, 2000 and Shri Jagat Prakash was the first District & Sessions Judge, Earlier the jurisdiction was exercised by District court at Allahabad. The establishment of the Kaushambi District court facilitated access to justice for citizens living in outlying and remote areas. The Anganbadi building that the district administration had provided at Manjhanpur for the operation of the courts was inaugurated by the Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court, Hon’ble Shri Shyamal Kumar Sen, in presence of Hon’ble Shri Vinod Kumar Rai, Administrative Judge Hon’ble High Court, Allahabad on October 13, 2000. Courts of Civil Judge (S.D.), Civil Judge(J.D.) and Civil Judge(J.D.) FTC-II are functioning in that building. The Courts of District & Sessions Judge, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Civil Judge (Sr. Div), Civil Judge (Jr. Div) & Judicial Magistrate started in year 1997 vide G.O. no. 4661/seven-nyaya- 2/97/dated: 19.12.1997. ADJ Court no.1 was transferred from Allahabad vide notification dated: 29.11.2002. ADJ Court no.2 and ADJ Court no.: 3,4 & 5 came into existence vide notification dt. 28.01.2008 and 11.07.2011 respectively. Family Court was created vide G.O dated 23.05.2013. Foundation Stone of ground floor of new Court building was laid on 20.03.2010 by Administrative Judge, Kaushambi Judgship Hon’ble Justice Shri S.K. Tripathi. After completion, the building was inaugurated on 14.03.2014 by Hon’ble Justic Shri Tahir Husain. Foundation Stone of first floor of new Court building was laid on 21.02.2015 by Administrative Judge, Kaushambi Judgship Hon’ble Justice Shri M.C. Tripathi. On 15.10.2021, Administrative Judge of Kaushambi Judgship Hon’ble Justice Shri Shekhar Kumar Yadav inaugurated seven court rooms constructed on the first floor of the new Court building and the newly constructed Sessions House in the presence of Shri Brajesh Kumar Mishra, District & Sessions Judge, Kaushambi. The new Court building consisting of 14 Courtrooms is functional at present.
