Khagaria Judgeship was earlier part of Munger Judgeship and the Sub-Divisional Court at Khagaria was inaugurated on 13.10.1977 by the Hon'ble Justice Sri Shambhu Prasad Singh, Judge of Hon'ble Patna High Court and the Ist Sub-ordinate Judge of the Judgeship was Sri Rajaram Singh.On 23.03.1991, Khagaria Judgeship was separated from Munger Judgeship and it was inaugurated by the Hon'ble Justice Sri Suresh Chandar Mukherjee on 23.03.1991 and the Ist. District & Sessions Judge of Khagaria Judgeship was Sri Baidyanath Singh.On 09.09.2000, the Permanent Lok Adalat, Khagaria was started in the Khagaria Judgeship.In the year 2002, the Court of Additional District & Sessions Judge, Fast Track Court, Khagaria started functioning.On 16.10.2012 the Family Court was inaugurated by the Hon'ble Justice Sri S. M. Mahfooz Alam of the Hon'ble Patna High Court. Khagaria district is surrounded by seven rivers namely Ganga, Budhi Gandak, Koshi, Kareh, Kali Koshi, Kamala, and Bagmati.
