District Court - West Siang
West Siang District with its HQ at Aalo, bounded on the North by China, on the East by Upper Siang & Siang districts, on the South by Lower Siang & Assam and on the West by Upper Subansiri & Lower Subansiri districts of Arunachal Pradesh. The homeland of various tribes like Galo, Minyong, Bori, Bokar, Pailibo, Ramos, Memba form a natural abode for many species of orchids, diverse flora & fauna endowed with a dense vegetation, and a wide range of climatic and geographical variations, the district enjoys a moderate and comfortable climate. The District and Sessions Court, Aalo was established on June’2019 and started functioning from the old building of Legal Metrology and Consumer Affairs, Aalo, West Siang District. Shri Gote Mega, DSJ was the first District and Sessions Judge, West Siang (25.06.2019 to 13.06.2022). The territorial jurisdiction of this court is extended up to West Siang District and Shi-Yomi Distrtict whereas the administrative jurisdiction is extended up to Upper Subansiri, Leparada, Shi-Yomi and West Siang Districts. Before the establishment of the District and Sessions Court, West Siang the Additional District and Sessions Court, Basar was looking after the entire districts. The Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Civil Judge (Senior Division) Court earlier known as District Court, West Siang was inaugurated on 21st Dec, 1990 by the then Hon’ble Minister of P.W.D, Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Arunachal Pradesh, Shri Todak Basar. It is located at Aalo, Arunachal Pradesh. The territorial jurisdiction of this court is extended up to Shi-Yomi, Leparada and West Siang Districts. Legal Aid Services are provided in the district through District Legal Aid Services Authority (DLSA), West Siang District. The DLSA office is located in the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Civil Judge (Senior Division), West Siang District. The National Lok Adalat is held at regular intervals under the District Legal Aid Services Authority ( DLSA), West Siang where disputes/cases pending in the court of law or at pre-litigation stage are settled/ compromised amicably.
