The District Court was established vide Notification No.SD 2004 CET 64, Bangalore, Dated: 25th August 1964. The District Court, Chitradurga started functioning with effect from 1st October 1964. The foundation stone for court complex was laid on 02.08.1965, by Sri. S.Nijalingappa, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Government of Mysore, under the presidentship of Hon’ble Mr. Justice H.Hombegowda, Hon’ble Chief Justice, High Court of Karnataka, Bangalore. The court complex at, Chitradurga was Inaugurated by Hon’ble Sri. Justice Somanath Iyer, Chief Justice of Mysore on 07.12.1969 under the presidentship of Sri.
